Clinical Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a brief, cost-effective method that has carved a well-earned place in the field of psychological science and clinical practice. However, some poeple continue to misunderstand hypnosis based on things they have seen on TV or stage shows (quack like a duck ring any bells?). In simple terms, hypnosis is a state of consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness. This relaxed state results in an increased capacity to respond to suggestions. Clients are fully conscious at all times and can stop the process at any stage.

Further information on hypnosis and its clinical applications can be found in the brochure from the American Psychological Association
